Your mother.

Your Mother is always with you. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and the fragrance of life itself. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winter’s day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a rainbow; she is Christmas morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. She’s the place you came from, your first home and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space, not even death.

  6. Thank you for these beautiful words. Many years ago, a very wise woman in her 80’s told me that you lose almost everything when you lose you mother. My mother was only 15 years older than me. She moved in with me about 12 years ago. She was my best friend, but I didn’t appreciate or understand how much of an impact she had on my every day life. She was ill and died in 2013 at 69 years old. Only 69! I miss her desperately but, I realize that she is in a better place and no longer suffering. She is with me and I know without a doubt, we loved each other unconditionally. I thank God every day for each moment he let me have with my Mom.
