Walk away from the nonsense.

Being strong doesn’t mean you have to stay and fight all the battles and petty arguments that come your way. Being strong means you don’t have to stay and respond to rude remarks. Don’t retort by throwing insults back at them. It’s what they want. Keep your dignity and don’t lower yourself to their level. True strength is being adult enough to walk away from the nonsense with your head held high.~Unknown

  1. thank you!! Your post always say what I need to hear just at the right moment. Have been disagreeing alot with my ex husbands/now deceased family about his things. He committed sucide last week. Dealing with that I would like to tell his kids where to go but I know I need to keep the peace for a little while longer. Even though we were divorced, we were still living together. Dealing with everyday life with him was a roller coaster ride to say the least. And having to deal with them at the same time just made it worse. But anyways, Thank you always for your beautiful well timed posts. They have really helped alot this week with dealing with everything.

    1. You are welcome Kaye and I hope that you will resolve things and find peace in your heart. You deserve happiness!

  2. I have a beautiful daughter that I love very much. But she doesn’t talk to me. And when she does, she blames me for everything that has gone wrong in her life. I have tried to say sorry, for decisions made in the past that have hurt her. But she just yells at me. I miss her so much and would just love her to, love me as I am.

    1. Dear Lisa, I am so sorry you have having difficulties with your daughter. This can be very hurtful for a mother who is desperately trying to reach out. Know that your daughter needs time to mature, to realize that everything she is doing is based on the choices “she” makes. It’s not you, her past relationships or an argument that is to blame. She is responsible for every decision and choice she makes, period. Until she realizes that no one is perfect, (yes even mothers) and the meaning of forgiveness and letting go, all these lessons need to be in her heart. Keep telling her you love her and one day she will understand and need you. There is no stronger bond than mother and daughter. Be patient. Love always wins.
