There is a big difference between giving up and letting go.

There is a big difference between giving up and letting go. Giving up means selling yourself short. It means allowing fear and struggle to limit your opportunities and keep you stuck. Letting go means freeing yourself from something that is no longer serving you. Giving up reduces your life. Letting go expands it. Giving up is imprisoning. Letting go is liberation. Giving up is self-defeat. Letting go is self-care.
So the next time you make the decision to release something or someone that is stifling your happiness and growth, and a person has the audacity to accuse you of giving up or being weak, remind yourself of the difference. Remind yourself that you don’t need anyone’s permission or approval to live your life in the way that feels right. No one has the authority to tell you who to be or how to live. No one gets to decide what your life should look like or who should be a part of it. No one, but you.

  3. This post hit me right where I am living. My heart is broken because I chose to end my 26 year marriage. I need to remind myself that I did not give up. I reached a point where enough is enough and I decided to let go. It is encouraging to understand that I made the right, health decision. This transitional season is and will be difficult. In the midst of my pain, I will listen, learn and grow.

  4. Thank you for your message today. Because I change or am no longer interested, I have been accused of giving up. I don’t give up on anything I just change my course.

  5. Very beautiful …yet again. Two different aspects but aiming at the same objective. It’s so tiring trying to find the middle path in every situation between the extremes. Sometimes , it’s just best to flow with whatever IS … just accept and be grateful that whatever is or will be is only the best whether we truly understand it or not.

Just going on is easier and peaceful. If this moment is peaceful right at this point, lets thank the silent prayers of all those who blessed us when we were unaware.

  10. I have held on and held on. I have cried, pleaded, begged, groveled and lost all self esteem and pride.
I have not been able to do it, to stop, to let go, to put an end to it.
I cannot tell you why. I do not know myself.
I can tell you it’s gutteral, it’s in the deepest part of my soul, my innermost self that screams “no!” Primal, painful, howling “NO!”
    “I cannot do it!”

    I’m going to do it.
Tonight. Enough. Hold me up fellow souls, I’m taking the leap I never thought I’d live through.
