It has been said, “time heals all wounds.” I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone”

I was with my ex for 16 years & all was fine until. I had my son, that’s when all started, just because he wanted a girl the mental & physical abuse started, my son was 8 year’s old when he started with epilepsy & the doctor’s at the hospital said it was due to stress of us arguing. I divorced him 9 year’s ago now & it’s the best thing. I ever did, I married 5 year’s ago & I am very happy my son is 20 year’s old now & is doing well at Manchester Met Uni, which is good & I am very proud of him, what I am trying to say is that the scar’s are still here with me. I am waiting to see a Psychological Therapist, so I can put the past behind me
This is true. And you will always remember them, especially the wounds from those you loved and trusted. But this does not mean you don’t forgive and move on. The wounds won’t hurt you over time and they also provide valuable life lessons but it is hard to accept this initially when you are really hurting.
