Weak people revenge. Strong people forgive. Intelligent people ignore.
Weak people revenge. Strong people forgive. Intelligent people ignore.
agree with the first two, but the last? I’m probably not that intelligent person. To ignore pain and the causes of the pain means that you repress those thoughts. But that does not mean that they are gone …. when I had to tidy up my room as a kid, sometimes I just put everything under the bed … it never really did work out!
AMEN to that! Whew …. Oh, what a relief it was to hear this! Thought I was about to LOSE IT for a minute! Kinda agree with Anie a little bit here ….. Ignoring their ‘MANIA’ makes you ‘intelligent’? Wait …. I just answered my own question …. “MANIA” seems to be the key word here! Now, it makes sense! Why, oh why would I want to acknowledge ‘THEIR’ MANIA??? NO WAY! However, sometimes we may just have to ‘deal’ with whatever they place before us, depending on the severity of it! We cannot allow them to ‘try’ to destroy us either!
Thanks! Much appreciated!
By no means, sandra, you have to allow to destroy you. But every day, I am reassuring myself that it is not the others who are responsible for what I think and how I feel. And yes perhaps it is a mania of myself aswell, but I have my own reason to believe what I believe. Generally, I do not believe that someone wants me to do something bad to me….never! This is a fundamental attitude to life that I have within me. If these are people who are close to me, who cause me problems, that bothers me of course. Then their “mania” is also mine and it can be hard and take a long time to find a solution and live well with it. If these are people who really do not mean something to me, then I can actually ignore it, because it does not really annoy me either, and there will no further anger be left inside me by time.
Ignoring is not going to work – because if not resolved…it will build and build and build. Forgiveness is not for someone else who wronged you. It is so you can set yourself free af anger and bitterness. If you don’t forgive, it will rot and decay in your heart, and if it festers there long enough, it effects how you feel about yourself.
Just my opinion
