Hi, As a Tai Chi, a Fall Prevention & a Chronic Pain Self Management Instructor, I would add: Pause and Take a Breath to each one! Why, because when we are stressed, angry, wondering what to do,…or am in the moment of a painful flare-up, people tend to hold their breath and shallow breath. We don’t get enough oxygen in our bodies and in our brains to help our thought process in getting over a difficult moment, a bout of stress or anger and getting through a painful flare-up. The breath is so important! It helps us to slow down & pause. It also triggers the relax response in our Central Nervous System.
