    Why she stayed.

He is a storm, and storms devastate, but every time he hurts you you hold your breath and bear the hurricane; repeating to yourself One more chance One more breath just one more, and you’ll fix him Until one day you can’t hold your breath anymore, and you are half a stormy evening, one tear stained night, two minutes and five secondsaway from breaking down And you realize, you cannot fix anyone, not until you fix yourself.

You can’t calm the storm… so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass.

Some of the difficult moments in life is giving someone a hug when you need it the most. Fighting back the tears in your eyes to wipe off someone else’s tears. Listening to somebody’s grief when you want your pain to be heard. Being the reason for someone’s smile when your own smile is lost. To bless someone else while you are going through your own storm. To be the strong one, you know?

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”

I value people who are down on their luck yet they keep a positive outlook. I respect people who have wounds that tell an intense story of trust. I commend the folks with hurts that run as deep as rivers but they keep walking onward. I cherish the broken people because sometimes they’ll give you a piece of their story to learn from. I highly regard those who have gone through storm after storm but walk out more determined than ever. I think this is so because I can relate and their walk encourages me and for this I will tell my heart to never give up.

Dear God; Thank you that You are my Hope and that I can trust in You no matter what happens. I pray that You will use the storm I am experiencing now to grow new flowers in my life in ways I never expected and help me appreciate the ones I’ve already been given. I don’t fully understand yet how that is possible but I receive your promise to work all things together for good in my life. Amen.

Few people understand what it means to really be there for somebody. And that’s the toughest part about being on a journey, you realize the main ones that said they will ride with you, are the first ones to fall off. People make promises when the sun is shining and make excuses when the storm comes. That’s why I am always thankful for the rain. It washes away the unnecessary. The reality is, you could be amazing, genuine and sincere but still be overlooked. Having a good thing is so hard because meeting a strong person is so rare. So I’ve learned to understand when people run from me, I realize my kind of love ain’t for everybody.

“I hope you find someone who is brave enough to enter your storm, and respects you enough to love the size of your waves. I hope you find someone who will relish the calm you can have, and who is eager to set sail on the expanse of your mind. I hope you find someone that can’t escape the love they have for you, because now they have you in their very blood, always reminding them that you are the only sea worth exploring.”

No storm can last forever. It will never rain 365 days consecutively. Keep in mind that trouble comes to pass, not to stay. So, please don’t worry! No storm, not even the one in your life, can last forever.

Sometimes, the people who have been through many storms often take the longest to find their path because their sensitivity is a double edged sword- at their core lies great strength but they are more susceptible to life’s pains. Good thing the soul doesn’t know a thing about deadlines.

Your greatest test is when you are able to bless someone while you are going through your own storm.
