“Sometimes walking away is the only option. Not because you want to make someone miss you, or realize they took you for granted. But because you finally respect yourself enough to know that you deserve better.”

Always be yourself. Never try to hide who you are. The only shame is to have shame. Always stand up for what you believe in. Always question what other people tell you. Never regret the past, it’s a waste of time. There’s a reason for everything. Every mistake, every moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you. Grow from it. The only way can ever get the respect of others is when you show them that you respect yourself and most importantly, do your thing and never apologize for being you.

Being “raised right” doesn’t mean you don’t drink, party, and smoke. Being raised right is how you treat people, your manners & respect.

The more chances you give someone the less respect they’ll start to have for you. They’ll begin to ignore the standards that you’ve set because they’ll know another chance will always be given. They’re not afraid to lose you because they know no matter what you won’t walk away. They get comfortable with depending on your forgiveness. Never let a person get comfortable disrespecting you.

You didn’t make a mistake by loving them. You should never regret loving. You didn’t make a mistake by giving them a chance. That’s a reason of strength, not shame. You didn’t make a mistake by trusting them, believing them or being there for them. Do you know why? Your actions reflect you. You would do this for anyone that comes your way. It just happened that those were not appreciative of your pure intentions. You didn’t make a mistake. The mistake was their choice to make by not respecting and appreciating your beautiful heart. – Najwa Zebian

“I was raised to show respect. I was taught to knock before I open a door. Say hello when I enter a room. Say please and thank you, and to have respect for my elders. I’d let another person have my seat if they need it. Say ‘yes sir’ and ‘no sir’, and help others when they need me to, not stand on the sidelines and watch. Hold the door for the person behind me, say ‘excuse me’ when it’s needed and to love people for who they are and not for what I can get from them and most importantly, I was also raised to treat people exactly how I would like to be treated by others. It’s called respect.

There will be times in your life when no matter what you do for some people, it will never be good enough. Do not change who you are just to seek someone else’s acceptance or approval. Always stay true to you. Those who truly love you and respect you will always be by your side.

It’s really painful to say goodbye to someone that you don’t want to let go of, but it’s even more painful to hold on to them if they never wanted to stay in the first place. If someone doesn’t show you the same love that you show them, and acts as if you are unimportant most of the time, this may be a big clue as to the fact that you don’t need them in your life either. The only people you truly need in your life are those who respect you and want you to be in theirs.

You are not a back-up plan. You are worth more than someone’s second choice. You can’t force yourself to stop caring for someone, but you can tell yourself that you deserve better. Never settle to be someone’s second best. Raise your standards and choose to be with someone who will treat you with the same respect and consideration you would treat them. You can’t expect to be someone else’s priority if you aren’t your own.

If someone is not treating you with love and respect, it is a gift if they walk away from you. If that person doesn’t walk away, you will surely endure many years of suffering with him or her. Walking away may hurt for a while, but your heart will eventually heal. Then you can choose what you really want. You will find that you don’t need to trust others as much as you need to trust yourself to make the right choices.

Everybody isn’t your friend. Just because they hang around you and laugh with you doesn’t mean they are your friend. People pretend well. At the end of the day, real situations expose fake people, so pay attention. Time passes and you begin to see people for who they really are and not who they pretend to be. Respect people who find time for you in their busy schedule. But love people who never look at their schedule when you need them.

It’s necessary to structure your life so that you are in contact with people who respect you, who understand and take you seriously. If this is what you did not have as a child and what you need now in order to construct healthy feelings of self worth, it is important to stop being with people who make you feel bad about yourself. ~The Courage to Heal:Ellen Bass & Laura Davis

Free yourself from negative people. Spend time with nice people who are smart, driven and like-minded. Relationships should help you, not hurt you. Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be. Choose friends who you are proud to know, people you admire, who love and respect you – people who make your day a little brighter simply by being in it. Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you. When you free yourself from negative people, you free yourself to be you – and being you is the only way to truly live. ~Unknown

When you give yourself to someone who doesn’t respect you, you surrender pieces of your soul that you’ll never get back. There comes a point when you have to let go and stop trying with some people. If someone wants you in their life, they’ll find a way to put you there. Sometimes you just need to let go and accept the fact that they don’t care for you the way you care for them. Let them leave your life quietly. Letting go is oftentimes easier than holding on. We think it’s too hard to let go, until we actually do. Then we ask ourselves, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”

Marry the guy Who loves to hold your hand. Will go on long walks with you. Is serious but knows how to have fun. Makes you laugh. Will join in on your random bursts of song. Watches chick flicks just to spend time with you. Lets his inner-child out sometimes. Isn’t afraid to be himself. Will stand up for what he believes in. Will stand up for you and protect you. Makes you feel like a princess. Treats you with the utmost respect. You can be completely yourself with. You can talk to about anything. Will pray with you and for you. Loves God and loves you.

What is love? Someone you can talk to about anything and know they’ll hold no judgement. Someone who knows the darkest parts of you and loves you anyway, that knows all your flaws and loves you not in spite of them but because of them. Not someone that you can’t live without, but someone that you don’t want to live without. Someone that you want to experience all of lifes ups and downs with. Someone who will hold your hand through the worst times of your life. When they see you at your worst, when you’re broken, and they don’t run away but help you put the pieces back together. Someone who will treat you with respect, even in the heat of an argument. Someone who loves you with every beat of their heart. Now that is love.

Today, I choose to let go of the people whose company is toxic to my peace of mind. I choose to be free. I choose to liberate my soul from the aches it’s been through. Today, I choose to stay away from closed doors. I choose not to craft a wall around my heart. I choose to decorate it with the lessons I’ve learned. I choose to paint it with respect and confidence. Today, I choose to forgive myself. For asking too much of myself. For allowing myself being hurt. Today, I choose to embrace my flaws. I choose to accept my mistakes. I choose to be better. I choose to move forward. I choose to guard my soul. I choose to be brave. I choose to say no when saying yes hurts. Today, I choose to be wise. I choose to walk away from places I don’t belong. I choose to embrace my time. For all that is timeless – is precious. All that is precious – is unique. All that is unique – is different. And all that is different – is beautiful. Today, I choose to be beautiful. I choose ME. ❤

You deserve honesty. You deserve transparency. You deserve someone who respects you enough to never lie to your heart. You deserve appreciation. You deserve loyalty. You deserve someone who would never abuse your trust. You deserve love. You deserve someone who would still be there for you even when everyone else has walked away. You deserve someone who’s REAL. Never settle for less.

The only way you can ever get the respect of others is when you show them that you respect yourself and most importantly, do your thing and never apologize for being you.

“I learned the hard way that I cannot always count on others to respect my feelings, even if I respect theirs. Being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people, too.

At the end of the day, I think most of us want to be liked. We want to be accepted. And we want to be loved and respected. I hope it starts with yourself. But the reality is that sometimes- even when you are sure of who you are- words can hurt and they can burn. I hope you remember that what you say matters. That the things you do can hurt someone else’s heart. That it doesn’t feel nice to be mean. And I hope you remember that your actions and words are always a reflection of yourself. And I hope you hold yourself to a high standard and then it all goes back to self-love. I think if you can develop an appreciation for who you are as a person, you can start to respect who others are as people too.

Marry the guy who loves to hold your hand. Will go on long walks with you. Is serious but knows how to have fun. Makes you laugh. Will join in on your random bursts of song. Watches your favorite movie just to spend time with you. Lets his inner-child out sometimes. Isn’t afraid to be himself. Will stand up for what he believes in. Will stand up for you and protect you. Treats you with the utmost respect. You can be completely yourself with. You can talk to about anything. Will pray with you and for you. Loves God and loves you.

Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly. Really, truly find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with. Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with. The kind of laughs that make your belly ache, and your nose snort. The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important. Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them. Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry, too. Despair will come. Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times. Most importantly, marry the one that makes passion, love and respects you. A love that will never dilute – even when the waters get deep, and dark.

Now that’s real love.

That stress you’ve placed upon your shoulders is going to crush you. Get rid of it. You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to have it all together. You don’t need to please everyone. Place that heavy burden on the ground. Throw it into the sea. Expel it from your being. You will be lighter in mind, body, and soul. You have to learn to say no without feeling guilty. Setting boundaries is healthy. You need to learn to respect and take care of yourself.

Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships. Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention. Which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage and which ones discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill? When you leave certain people do you feel better or feel worse? Which ones always have drama or don’t really understand, know, or appreciate you? The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and truth around you…the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of your life.”

You don’t have to be what other people want you to be. You don’t have to be interesting or agreeable or entertaining. You don’t have to tone yourself down, quiet your voice, or hide your feelings. You don’t have to be outgoing or spontaneous or sociable. You don’t have to be thin or beautiful or anyone’s definition of attractive. You don’t have to be anyone other than who you authentically are, and you sure as hell don’t have to spend your time and energy trying to convince people that you’re worth keeping around. The right people are going to recognize your worth. They are going to respect you, appreciate you, and accept you, without forcing you to compromise who you are. Life is too short, and your happiness is far too important, to make room for anyone who treats you otherwise.

You deserve honesty. You deserve transparency. You deserve someone who respects you enough to never lie to your heart. You deserve appreciation. You deserve loyalty. You deserve someone who would never abuse your trust. You deserve love. You deserve someone who would still be there for you even when everyone else has walked away. You deserve someone who’s REAL. I don’t want to settle for ordinary love. I want a love to be one of a kind. I want to wake up every morning next to the person I love and tell them how blessed I am. I want to be with someone who sees my worse, but encourages me to be my best. I want to be able to laugh with the person I love but have a conversation where we share our deepest thoughts. A relationship based on mutual trust, respect and loyalty. A love so special that it will last a lifetime.

The more chances you give someone the less respect they’ll start to have for you. They’ll begin to ignore the standards that you’ve set because they’ll know another chance will always be given.

Either they like you or they don’t. Never try to convince somebody of your worth. If a person doesn’t appreciate you, they don’t deserve you. Respect yourself and be with people who truly value “you”.  -Brigitte Nicole

“I learned the hard way that I cannot always count on others to respect my feelings, even if I respect theirs. Being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people, too. You only have control over yourself and how you choose to be as a person. As for others, you can only choose to accept them or walk away.” ~Unknown

Learn to love yourself enough so that when someone enters your life that treats you negatively, you can stand up for yourself and have the strength to let them go. You can learn that it is okay to say no to anyone who is not willing to treat you with the love and respect you not only want, but also deserve. Have the courage to walk away from anything that does not serve you well. Search for your highest good.

You have to learn to say no without feeling guilty. Setting boundaries is healthy. You need to learn to respect and take care of yourself.

Respect people who find time for you in their busy schedule, but love people who never look at their schedule when you need them.
