Are any of these copyright protected? I am on a committee that oversees content for a newsletter for a world-wide support group. I would like to know if these quotes could be legally reprinted as encouraging quotes in the newsletter.

Dear Cari, I would strongly suggest before you publish anything that you hire a lawyer who is familiar in Copyright Laws. When I began the process of writing a book, did seek legal counsel and was told that you cannot publish any quotes without the author’s permission. Reason being, that there are some quotes that are Copyright protected.

I don’t see why you shouldn’t if you are not taking credit for it, refusing to give credit where it is due, and as long as you write down “author unknown” just as it was done here on this website.

Sounds like someone just read a bunch of things online and decided to make a list, but not plagiarize by saying the source for the list is unknown. Yeah…ha…okay.
